Adoption of Rule 88 by the Supreme Court of Ohio

It’s been a few weeks since our last blog but we’re still here!

The Supreme Court of Ohio adopted amendments to the Rules of Superintendence for the Courts of Ohio on June 21, 2011. These amendments go into effect January 1, 2012.

Highlights include the following:

  • When an appointment of a foreign language interpreter is required
  • When an appointment of a sign language interpreter is required
  • Appointments to avoid
  • Certification requirement for foreign language interpreters
  • Certification requirement for sign language interpreters
  • Waivers
