Lynn Elfers, CEO & Owner
Lynn Elfers attended the University of Cincinnati and was a former full-time volunteer in Costa Rica. What originally began as a desire to help individuals, grew to become a thriving company. Lynn guided the company through the natural evolution of an ever-growing professional interpreting service working in high-stress locations such as medical emergency rooms to a blossoming company which incorporates all branches of language services. Here’s more on Lynn’s thoughts on leadership from her interview on From Founder To CEO.
Alex Loehrer, President
Alex Loehrer was recently announced as the new President of Affordable Languages Services. He has been a part of the Affordable Language Services family since 2014 when he began a three-year-term on our strategic advisory board from 2014 to 2017. For the last three years, Alex served as Chief Operating Officer of Compass Point Counseling Services, an outpatient mental health practice serving clients from 15 locations in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. From 2013 to 2018, Alex oversaw strategic marketing as System Director for Mercy Health, Ohio’s largest health system. From 2004 to 2013, Alex was a partner at Hafenbrack Marketing and Genessa Health Marketing, sister strategic marketing agencies serving regional, national and international clientele in a host of industries. In his early career, Alex served as a senior administrator for Concordia Language Villages, an internationally recognized world language education program for young people with facilities throughout the United States, in Switzerland and in China. Alex graduated from John Carroll University with a BA in French and from Xavier University with an Executive MBA. He is bilingual French-English and conversationally fluent in Spanish. Alex lives in Madeira, Ohio, with his wife and four children.
Nancy McMahon, Vice President- Customer Engagement
Nancy is a graduate of Xavier University and her current role is with Affordable Language Services as Vice President of Customer Engagement. She works collaboratively with internal and external teams defining and refining better solutions for today’s challenging and much needed Language Service Programs.
Previously with Pinnacle Talent Solutions she was responsible for partnering with leaders in private organizations as they decided to grow their organization and employee base. Working hand in hand with internal associates, client presidents and CEO’s as they defined the value and look of new critical leadership roles – assessing and building from the ground up.
Prior, Nancy spent 19 years with a large full-service staffing company and served the last 10 years on the leadership team as the Executive Vice – President of Sales and Operations (including OnSite and Vendor Management) for Enterprise Accounts. Her responsibilities included managing $135 million region and serving on a select internal team tasked with preparing the company for sale. After transitioning from the new ownership, she started an OnSite Company building and managing a $7 million organization specializing in Staffing and Site Training. She sold this organization to a larger staffing firm.
Elba Madison, Vice President – Training & Quality
Elba Madison is originally from Panama, a Fulbright scholar graduated from the University of South Alabama with a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics and minor in Mathematics. She has been an active interpreter for 12 years and a certified medical interpreter through the National Board of Certified Interpreters since 2013. She is the VP of Interpreting Operations at Affordable Language Services and a licensed trainer for the Medical Interpreter Training Bridging the Gap. She has been working hand on hand with the Hispanic Community in the Greater Cincinnati Area and is part of many non-profit organizations like the Latino Health Collaborative, Su Casa Hispanic Center, Friends of Batahola, Miracles in Action and many more.
Camille Rechel, Vice President – Interpreter Operations
Camille is a local from the Cincinnati Area. She graduated with honors from the University of Cincinnati with a background in Chemistry, throughout her career, Camille has worked in Sales, Product & Business Management, Customer Service, Recruiting and more. Camille brings over 15 years of experience and is a six sigma blackbelt. She is the mother of two children, one who speaks fluent sign and one who is attending the University of Cincinnati. For fun she likes to read and spend time with her family. Camille will be working with recruiting, credentialing, and scheduling to advance the success of all our interpreters!
Maureen Heckmuller, Controller
Maureen is originally from Indianapolis. She graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a background in finance and marketing, and received her CPA in 1993. Maureen started her career with Macy’s working in their Accounting, Audit and Planning Departments. She spent the rest of her professional career working as Controller for The Mayerson Company before coming onboard. Maureen brings over 20 years experience as a controller. Maureen is the mother of three adult children, one is attending the University of Cincinnati, one is attending Northern KY University and one is a graduate of NKU. For fun she likes to stay active, and spend time with her family. Maureen will be working with the Accounting and HR functions.
