Somali Interpreting and Translation

Somali is spoken in 6 countries, along with immigrant Somali communities in the Middle East, Europe and North America.

The exact number of speakers is unknown, with estimates varying from 16 to 20 million worldwide. There are three main language groups of Somali: Northern (the basis for Standard Somali), Benaadir and Maay. Until 1976, there was no comprehensive dictionary for Somali, and the language had been written using a number of different alphabets, including the Arabic script. A vast literacy campaign was launched to teach others the new script, and by 1978, the majority of Somalis were reportedly literate.

Our Somali interpreters and translators are experienced in accurately conveying information from English into Somali and vice versa.
