May is known as a time for new growth and it’s been a busy month at Affordable Language Services. Because of the increasing requests for our interpreting services, we have been adding to our interpreting team, including staff interpreters, recruiters and scheduling. As you can imagine, everyone here has been busy keeping our customers happy and getting ready for a big Summer season.
Lynn at the Association of Language Companies
On May 7th, at the annual meeting of the Association of Language Companies, Lynn
Elfers was one of the featured presentation speakers based on her expertise and leadership in the industry. She was asked to speak about her experience on managing a growing business and how the benefits of a board of advisors to improve the business and services. Her presentation was well attended and warmly recieved by the members of this leading industry group.
Partnership For Innovation In Education/ Academy for Multilingual Immersion Studies
On May 13th, Lisa Hayes, SW Ohio Representative for Mary Taylor, Lieutenant Governor of Ohio, launched an app with AMIS students during a special presentation to honor the collaboration of the Academy, Affordable Language Services, NKU Center for Applied Informatics, which was brought together by the Partnership for Innovation in Education (p!e).

Interpreter Social
Finally, on May 17th, Affordable Language Services hosted our Annual Interpreter 
Social at Winton Woods. It was great time to sample food from around the world and relax with our interpreters and family. Steve Maril, our General Manager, welcomed over 100 people and it was great to see old friends. We are planning on another event in the early Fall.
